At roughly 1,500 Colombian pesos a pop (~$USD0.80!), these juices were seriously one of the bright sides of my trip. After experimenting with many different fruit combination, it came down to fresh orange juice & mango—HEAVENLY, I tell you!

Here’s how it works:
1. You find your favorite fruit lady (most of the ones I saw were run by women)
2. Each stand has its own selection of fruits, varying in quality, so it might take a day or two to find the best stand in your particular location
3. Once you find your stand, you can pretty much choose your own combo of whatever fruits you want in your drink.
4. A couple minutes of blending, you’re handed your delicious drink straight from the blender. If excess juice was made, rest assured, b/c that’s yours, as well. Once you down half of your glass, the fruit person will top of your cup w/ the remaining goods.
Don’t be a fearful traveler!
Some travelers will stay away from street stands, but to tell you the truth, the street is the root of culinary culture—not ultra expensive restaurants in rich parts of the city. If you travel like us, you fuck the tour books and go w/ local recommendations, Internet reads and random gems you find by way of walking around aimlessly through ghetto parts of new cities. It’s the only way to travel.
