Amerian Córdoba Park Hotel is centrally located in Córdoba city directly across the street from Patio Olmos Shopping Center on Av. San Juan. According to the website, the hotel is rated a 4-star superior quality hotel. From my travels I can’t say that this hotel was 4-stars but, I guess, for Argentina rating standards the Amerian Córdoba Park Hotel does fulfill the qualifications for that distinction.
On the website it clearly states that all rooms have broadband internet (i.e. wireless access) so I decided to bring my laptop along for the 10.5 hour bus ride from Retiro. I also opted for one of their junior suites since the price differential wasn’t much and I wanted to check out what they considered a suite. Both of these aspects were a disappointment to me. I will have to say, though, that I was elated by the very early check-in they allowed for me. I’d arrived in Córdoba around 8am and figured to just go to the hotel and leave my bags in the front then come back at the standard check-in time of 3pm. However, they said the room ready anyways and that I could immediately check-in, great kudos.
However, getting back to the disappointments. I’d been informed that all room had Wi-Fi access but when booting up my laptop I was unable to get a signal. I went down to the lobby to inquire and when telling them my hotel room they said that room/floor didn’t have Wi-Fi access but I was free to use the computer in the lobby. What kind of crap is that? I pay for a junior suite and I don’t have Wi-Fi access? I probably would’ve been better off downgrading to a standard room on a different floor that would have some access point. You’ll see from the pictures below that the junior suite wasn’t much from the inside. Though spacious it was like any standard room I’ve stayed in but with a king size bed. The walls were thin as I could hear the running water from the room next door. The bed was comfortable but nothing spectacular and the comforter was a bit itchy on the skin. A far cry from what great photography did for the website.
I will say, though, that the pool on the rooftop was a nice size and kept fairly clean. The location is very central with Patio Olmos directly across the street and Plaza San Martin several blocks away. If this place is considered 4-stars then I wonder about how much the quality drops to 3-stars. The staff was really friendly and helpful with the lobby always looking immaculate. My recommendation, if staying at the Amerian Córdoba Park Hotel is your choice is to simply go for a standard room and hope that you’re near an access point if you intend to use your laptop. The one thing I took away from this is the rating of hotels seem to vary between countries because in my opinion had this exact hotel been placed in the US I can see it probably getting an adjusted 3-star rating.

Looks tidy enough…
